Half the "Works cited" aren't

[edit]

Most of the cites in the "Works cited" section are not cited. Are these supposed to be general refs, further reading, or what? Also we have some shortened refs for Walker and van Zandt that should be in "Works cited" but aren't. GA-RT-22 (talk) 00:15, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The listed works are a combination of general refs and further reading. I think what happened was the section was once "Further Reading" which someone objected to, but I know several of the refs had been used as citations in general. If you think there is a better title for the section, go ahead with whatever edit is necessary. PentawingTalk 06:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally the section would be split into Works cited and Further reading. Or if Further reading is objectionable, those sources could either be cited or removed. Nikkimaria (talk) 23:59, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The City of Ann Arbor Adopted a new City Flag in 2024

[edit]

The official flag of the City of Ann Arbor includes the following elements: The flag consists of a field of green above a field of blue, bisected into equal parts by a horizontal white stripe. The white stripe is approximately one tenth of the width of the flag (span of the flag parallel to the flagpole). The flag contains an emblem consisting of a burr oak tree set in a white circle. The burr oak tree consists of green foliage and a blue trunk, both colors being the same as the background fields. The diameter of the emblem is approximately 75% of the width of the flag. In the vertical axis, the emblem is centered on the horizontal white stripe. In the horizontal axis, on a flag with a ratio of 3 to 5, the emblem is centered on a point approximately one third of the width from the hoist side (the side nearest the flagpole).[1]https://a2gov.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13400242&GUID=A49B526E-B0DA-4E80-B911-4B2363A11998 198.108.51.181 (talk) 15:39, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

They have a strange definition of "width". It would be nice if they would open source the flag and seal so we could use them. GA-RT-22 (talk) 16:24, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mechwaki

[edit]

Regarding this: "Other tribes that inhabited the area included the Mechwaki, Wyandots, and Sauk." The Mechwaki (spelled "Meskwaki" on Wikipedia) are not mentioned by that name in the cited source. In Washtenaw county they are known as the Fox indians, and that's what they're called in the source. The source says they passed through on their way to raid Detroit but it does not say they ever lived in Washtenaw county. GA-RT-22 (talk) 13:07, 6 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Living someplace is significant, passing through is trivial and should be removed. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:30, 6 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
