Open Access via Publish-and-Read Agreements
As the corresponding author at a participating institution, you can publish your peer-reviewed research (e.g., original or review articles) in the hybrid journals of Hogrefe PsyJournals Open Access without paying any APC fees to Hogrefe. The costs are already covered by your institution under the existing agreement.
Currently, Hogrefe has Publish-and-Read agreements with academic institutions in Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Overview of Publish-and-Read Agreements
With a Publish-and-Read agreement for our PsyJournals, your researchers benefit in two ways:
- Unlimited reading access to the entire PsyJournals portfolio with over 25,000 articles
- Open access publishing at no additional cost in all hybrid PsyJournals journals

OA Switchboard – Reliable Publication Metadata
Since early 2025, we have also been using OA Switchboard: a platform that standardizes and automatically delivers publication data to participating institutions and funding organizations.
Through so-called P1 messages, you receive structured data on published articles, including:
- Title, DOI, journal, corresponding author
- Open access or closed access status
- Funding and licensing information (where applicable)
This ensures easier monitoring, reporting, and compliance!
