Mixed metaphors and inappropriate metaphors can be fun. Doubly so when they're anachronistic.
This magic mace is cutting edge technology! I got bitten by a wererat, but I didn't want to enter the rat-race. Don't feed the trolls - especially if they're actual trolls.

The Resistance really needs to take cover somewhere and/or think about fleeing. Nute and AnaZone are fighting now, so it'd be best to stay out of the way until they've knocked each other out. Or at least are close to doing so as part of the traditional method for underdog brawling. And wasn't that the actual plan? Or was it just a hope from Chewie to try and get the Resistance members to go along with Poe's crazy idea for attacking?
Instability that Wedge can't handle? Hmmmmm..... Artoo, you're not still carrying around that time juice, are you? We haven't seen that show up yet, so you're probably hanging onto that. I'm guessing this instability is all your fault. You better not melt anyone with it!

{beat}
[SFX]: pow!
R2-D2: Wait... Wedge can’t lock it down?
