US divisions
[edit]Thank you for all the info, but please add sources and be precise. E.g. looking for any official info about the renaming of the "81st Mobile Infantry Brigade" I find nothing, because actually it's new name will be either "81st Mobile Brigade Combat Team" or "81st Mobile Brigade" and for neither I can find any confirmation of the renaming. I am not gonna edit articles and change graphics without sources. Likewise at 7th US Infantry Division you added a link to show there is a "7th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade", but the naming convention is "7th Division Artillery" and there is 0 sources that exists, and in the link you added the is no mention of a 7th Division Artillery in any form. As it is I have to ignore all your work, because I am not going to change anything unless I see a source. Best regards, Noclador (talk) 13:14, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Going through your suggestions I saw you added a perfect source for the 1st Battalion, 221st Cavalry Regiment (Nevada Guard Unit Transitions to Mobile Infantry Battalion) and thanks to this source I immediately changed the article. Noclador (talk) 13:25, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Seems you're correct about the 7th Division, that's weird because I distinctively remember using that reference several times for it. On another note, seems
- 7th Infantry Division has been renamed as 7th Infantry Division / Multi-Domain Command-Pacific: [1] with the 1st and 3rd MDTFs; [2][3][4][5].
- Regarding the 81st: [6][7][8][9] (converted at the end of March); including the 281st MI Coy at Camp Murray and 241st Signal Coy in Marysville from the 898th inactivating; 898th Engineer Company (Combat – Infantry); also MFRC at Camp Murray. That last reference includes ALL Washington Army National Guard changes planned
- Korean Service Corps includes the 75th Korean Service Corps Truck Company [10][11]
- Nevada: [12]
- Company B (Aviation Support), 96th Aviation Support Battalion split into B, C, and D Companies: [13]
- Regarding the 278th's upcoming transition: [14]
- 1st Attack Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment includes a Troop F armed with TUAS-LE [15] – FYI this will be the standard for attack battalions, they will be cavalry troops
- Regarding the naming of "Division Artillery Brigades": [16][17][18][19][20]
- Hope these all help. If you need anymore references let me know! Coldstreamer20 (talk) 18:25, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Noclador also just confirmed 11th Airborne Division: 6th Brigade Engineer Battalion is now 6th Division Engineer Battalion (Airborne) with: 18th Engineer Company (Combat – Infantry)(Airborne), 23rd Engineer Company (Support)(Airborne), and Forward Support Company (previously Company E, 725th BSB). [21]

LOSF and Royal Navy FOIA
[edit]Dear Coldstreamer20,
1. Are you able to provide a functioning PDF link for the Land Special Operations Force FOIA? I cannot access anything more than the start of your questions list, and the file is actually a html.
2. Do you have any advice regarding Royal Navy FOIAs? The listing at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structure_of_the_Royal_Navy#Structural_Listing_2025 which I transcribed from data.gov.uk (31 Dec 25) makes no sense in several places, especially in the enormous number of direct reports to 1SL/CNS and the complete seeming absence of ACNS(Personnel) or possibly now Chief of Navy People. Do you have any advice before I ask them to clarify?
Kind regards Buckshot06 (talk) 13:23, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Regarding Question 1, it seems you found my FOIA. Regard 2, no I'm not in that area of study anymore, so I cannot assist. Coldstreamer20 (talk) 19:27, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
DSR Brigades
[edit]Hey there @Buckshot06 and @Noclador, I bring British Army updates. 3 "new" brigades: 1st, 3rd, and 9th Deep Recce Strike Brigades. 1st supporting the 1st Division, 3rd supporting 3rd Division, and the 9th supporting ARRC ([22]). As of this moment, 9th is only a HQ pending the standing-up of 39 Regiment RA (which is to be reformed sometime next year and equipped with M270A2 MLRS). I do not know which regiments will be part of the new 1st Brigade (but I believe this is 11th Brigade). Coldstreamer20 (talk) 17:46, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Should have specified, the new "3rd" is actually the old 1st, not technically "new". Coldstreamer20 (talk) 17:49, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. With this edit Noclador moved 1st DSR Bde to 3rd DSR Bde on 25 October last year, and I found that later. The old 1st DSR Brigade was more accurately a DSR Units Command or DSR Units Pool; now no doubt we will see that list of 10-15 units parcelled out between the two additional DSR brigades. But 9th DSR Brigade is new to me. Many thanks; keep up the hard work!!
- Oh, is this mention of 11 [SFA] Brigade a misprint?? What sources do you have? Buckshot06 (talk) 18:04, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- For the 11th Brigade, like I said that's a guess. I know there's a new 1st Brigade, but I know the 11th Brigade is training for "Light Recce Strike". Coldstreamer20 (talk) 18:05, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- It would be really helpful if it's a guess, you say that. "Believe" doesn't quite equal guess. I do not agree. Yes the reprogrammed 11 Brigade is SOF/Infantry; it may be called "Light Recce Strike," buzzwords to paper over underequipped and undersupported infantry. But the crucial designation is "Deep Strike Reconnaissance," just about dating back to Rupert Smith's "reconnaissance-strike complex" with 1st Armoured Division in the Gulf. Look for "Deep Strike Reconnaissance." Buckshot06 (talk) 19:35, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
