[edit]Gadget preferences form
[edit]Gadget preferences form is opened partially untranslated. All messages, depends from MediaWiki:Gadget-SettingsUI.js, is shown untranslated. Note: I'm usage this gadget with Russian interfase, and MediaWiki:Gadget-SettingsUI.js/ru is exist. --Kaganer (talk) 09:03, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
[Feature request] move buttons from bottom left to bottom right corner
[edit]the cat_a_lot_minmax and cat_a_lot_toggle buttons.
being at bottom left means their positions depend on how wide the box is, which varies when some options are longer than usual.
being at bottom right will be stable. and imagine someone click the button and open the gadget by accident, they can click the close button again without moving the cursor so much. RoyZuo (talk) 15:25, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- There is a problem that when the browser window is in full screen then display corners are reserved to some other actions too. For example OS X opens a dialog which will overlay the browser window if cursor is in the corner. --Zache (talk) 01:40, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- i am suggesting the cat_a_lot_minmax and close window buttons swap places with where "Remember category" is now. the same position as the catalot button. RoyZuo (talk) 22:49, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Unstyled on Wikispecies
[edit]
Can anyone explain why this is happening? The script was recently synced from Commons. Background discussion at Wikispecies:Administrators' Noticeboard#Cat-a-lot sync needed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:30, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing Thanks for noticing this! I answered on howto do a quickfix on wikispecies. I need to check the proper crosswiki css-fix still though. The problem is that at some point I broke the crosswiki css-loading in the 2025 when I fixed another crosswiki loading problem and it was unnoticed at the time. --Zache (talk) 12:20, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
Turn "this category doesn't exist" into a notification instead of a blocking alert through a prefference.
[edit]{{2026-05-13}} The version in my namespace has a checkbox in the settings that turns the blocking alert when a category doesn't exist into a notification. I would like to propose merging.Vera (talk) 12:42, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- I wonder if we really need a setting for that… do some people want the blocking alert, or is that just what Perhelion reached for in Special:Diff/268409006 out of convenience and nobody would mind if we replaced that with a notification unconditionally? (CC @Zache if interested.) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 15:03, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- I guess it could be useful to alert new users and let more experienced users find the checkbox? Making it a notification by default is fine by me too and would safe us having to translate a new label. Vera (talk) 17:20, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
Done Looks good to me. I made some tweaks to the message, but it's live now. I also updated the i18n template, so the translations are ready for translators :). Nux (talk··dyskusja) 11:24, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
