English: The François Vase, a milestone in the development of Greek pottery, is a large volute krater decorated in the black-figure style which stands at 66cm in height. Dated at circa 570 BCE it was found in 1844-45 in an Etruscan tomb in the necropolis of Fonte Rotella near Chiusi and named after its discoverer Alessandro François.
Français : « Le vase François » est un un cratère à volutes attique à figures noires, daté autour de 570 av. J.-C. découvert en fragments dans la nécropole étrusque de Fonte Rotella à Chiusi en Étrurie, en 1844 et 1845, par Alessandro François.
Italiano: Il cosiddetto Vaso François (dal nome dell'archeologo che lo scoprì nel 1844 in una tomba etrusca a fonte Rotella, vicino Chiusi), è un grande cratere a figure nere firmato dal vasaio Ergotimos e dal pittore Kleitias, datato attorno al 570 a.C.
