About David Caballero

David is a Senior Editor at Collider focused primarily on Lists. His professional journey began in the mid-2010s as a Marketing specialist before embarking on his writing career in the 2020s. At Collider, David started as a Senior Writer in late 2022 and has been a Senior Editor since mid-2023. He is in charge of ideating compelling and engaging List articles by working closely with writers, both Senior and Junior, as well as other editors. Occasionally, David also reviews movies and TV shows and writes episode recaps. Currently, David is also writing his second novel, a psychological horror satire that will, hopefully, be picked up for publication sometime next year.

Industry Experience

As a writer, David is insightful and evocative; he likes to find a little bit of poetry in everything he writes. As an editor, David is detail-oriented, precise, and a bit of a stickler; the magic is in keeping the author's voice intact while still finding ways to improve the writing. He has been in the publishing industry for five years now, working for ScreenRant and Digital Trends, and having his work featured in sites like FilmDaze and NextBestPicture. David is also a member of GALECA and a proud voter at the Dorian Awards, where he tries to showcase underseen movies and shows.

Favorite Media

David's love for movies began at an early age, after witnessing the masterpiece that was 1998's Pokémon: The First Movie from the front row of a packed theater. His all-time favorite movie is Like Water for Chocolate, followed by Now, Voyager, Mulholland Drive, 2011's Jane Eyre, and Batman Returns. His favorite shows are Young Justice (yes, all four seasons), Game of Thrones (no, not all eight seasons), Merlin, and, as a proud child of the 2010s, Glee. Among his favorite actors are the mighty Bette Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Naomi Watts, Amy Adams, Salma Hayek, and Bill Skarsgård. He loves the Oscars and believes no robbery was greater than Naomi Watts and Amy Adams' snubs in 2002 and 2017, respectively. David also loves video games and replays Dragon Age: Inquisition once a year. He loves to sing showtunes at the top of his lungs, much to his neighbors' chagrin.
