Kansan by birth, Coloradan at heart, and based now in Philadelphia, I'm a scholar and curator of design history and material culture. My research interests encompass a broad range of design, craft, and architecture from the mid-nineteenth century to the present in Europe and North America, including some narrower fields of inquiry like the history of design pedagogy, the material culture of childhood, and the visual and material cultures of space science. I currently work as Assistant Curator of European Decorative Arts at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and am in the process of completing a PhD at Bard Graduate Center in New York.
I've worked to develop exhibitions with a number of institutions, have published and presented in both scholarly and public venues, and work as a freelance writer and editor from time to time. I also co-convene the Craft History Workshop virtual seminar series with Antonia Behan of Queen’s University. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to talk shop!
