Making life better with bees

Making life
better
with bees

We believe in the power of bees to create sustainable livelihoods for people around the world.

We see a world where bees, people and planet are mutually benefitting from beekeeping. Where vulnerable communities around the world – including women, people living with disability and marginalised groups – have the opportunity to support themselves with bees.

How do we do this?

Beekeeper training

We teach people how to make local style bee hives and set up their apiary.

Support marginalised groups

We work to break down barriers that prevent marginalised groups from earning a sustainable income through beekeeping.

Education

We empower students with skills in beekeeping, and enterprise development preparing them to become future leaders.

Biodiversity support

We educate beekeepers in the importance of protecting the biodiversity of their area and the benefits that come from it.

Routes to market

We create supply chains by buying honey and beeswax from beekeepers, processing it and selling it wholesale.

Capacity building

We empower beekeepers by giving them information and networking opportunities, and trainers by giving them the tools to deliver effective training.

Our impact

In 2024, our Beekeeping Extension Agents in Ghana supported 212 new beekeepers in 15 communities.
