Elect, Former Union Carpenter, Tony Castro For Congress, District 46 on Tuesday June 2, 2026. I refuse donations from corporate lobbyists because they expect favors in return. This is the people’s campaign, people powered to power the people. I am a life-long, non-corporate, pro-union, Democratic-socialist, progressive-populist and a high propensity voter. A vote for Tony Castro is a vote for the people. When I win, the people win. Born and raised in the city of Orange in California on Cypress Street. My dad was born in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico and my mom was born in Orange, California. I have relatives from Santa Maria de Medio, and Encarnacion de Dias, Jalisco, Mexico. I got 600 votes in 2022 for Fullerton city council with no corporate money and no candidate statement, 5,392 votes in 2024 for RSCCD college board area 7, and now I’m running as a write-in candidate for Unitedly States Representative in California’s 46 Congressional District on June 2, 2026.
  • Address Climate Disruption: My research on climate change can be found on chapter one in a book titled: “Dollar Democracy On Steroids” by: Peter Mathews. Climate change/disruption is my number one concern, without the planet none of the other policies matter.
  • Enforce the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights”: Protect women’s Reproductive Rights, Free Healthcare, Free Higher Education all the way through medical school, adequate standard of living, fair wages, right to marry, freedom from slavery and torture, etc.
  • Guaranteed Basic Needs for All: 1.) End Homelessness Now with “Housing First” like they have in Finland, 2.) U.B.I. (universal Basic Income) to help people get on their feet, 3.) Free healthy warm meals, Free clothing and two free vacations- two weeks at a time - anywhere in the world- paid for by the federal government.
Education is important because we need an educated workforce to stay competitive in the global economy. Let’s fully fund and bring back the trades to our children’s elementary, junior high, and high schools. We had Nobel prize winning talents out of UC Berkeley in the 60s and 70s when California offered free universities under the “master plan for higher education”, we also had scientific advancements out of colleges in the Silicon Valley. I am the co-coordinator for “Rescue Education California”. Strengthen the teachers union.
Dr. Maha Afra, Cypress College, Multi-Cultural Studies Director.
