My name is Steven “Diz” Disbrow and I’m running for the Georgia House of Representatives District 1. I’m a father, computer programmer, actor, producer, comedian and entrepreneur who’s lived in the NW GA area (Chattanooga) my entire life and moved to Rossville in 2019. (I’m also one of the co-founders of Improv Chattanooga, but I’m told that “comedians” can’t really run for office effectively, so, forget I mentioned that. Unless you saw one of my shows and I made you laugh. Surely that's worth a vote.)
  • If you are a “progressive,” “liberal,” “woke,” or even just a vanilla “Democrat,” living here in NW Georgia, it can feel like you are truly isolated... that your voice won’t be heard, and that your vote just doesn’t matter.

I’m here to tell you that this is NOT true.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE, AND YOUR VOTE MATTERS!
  • "Economic Development" is more than just industry and retail. It also means things that enrich our lives like public spaces, the arts and properly funded schools. NW Georgia has lagged behind in ALL these areas for too long. We need economic policies that support families first, while still helping local businesses grow in a responsible manner.
  • I think we all realize that the current District setup (at both the State and Federal levels) is absolutely insane, with the party in power constantly looking to stifle the will of the folks on the other side. One of my top goals will be to redistrict myself out of a job in 2030. Districts should be created in a non-partisan manner (like Iowa or Michigan) rather than having the state carved up like a Thanksgiving Turkey by a bunch of power-hungry millionaires that have no real interest in representing the people. Honestly I’d rather have fair Districting and better representation for all Georgians than the job itself.
I have created the "FAIR Act." The FAIR Act (Fair AI & Innovation Reform Act) ensures workers are treated fairly as AI changes the workplace. Companies must evaluate AI systems before replacing employees, and workers who are displaced receive severance, continued healthcare, and opportunities for retraining or reassignment. If other positions are available, they must be offered first. And if the AI system fails, workers get the first chance to return to their jobs.
Steve Jobs. He was uncompromising in his vision of the future and literally changed the world. (Maybe not 100% for the better, but he definitely changed the world.)
Listening to constituents and acting in their best interests.
Proposing and fighting for legislation that makes people's lives better. Opposing legislation that doesn't serve the people.
North River Nursery in Hixson TN. I was paid minimum wage ($2.35 an hour!) under the table and was there for 4 or 5 years.
The Moon Landing. I was 5 years old in the back of my parents station wagon as we drove to visit my grandparents in Florida. We heard it on the car radio.
