May 29, 2026: Eighty-four percent (84%) of school board incumbents won re-election in 2025. This is up from the 83% of incumbents who won in 2024. In 2025, Ballotpedia covered school board elections in 29 states. Of these 29 states, Texas had the most seats up for election with 196.
