Larry Springer
Larry Springer (Democratic Party) is a member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing District 45-Position 2. He assumed office in 2005. His current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Springer (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Washington House of Representatives to represent District 45-Position 2. He will not appear on the ballot for the primary on August 4, 2026.
Springer has served as Deputy Majority Leader since 2014.
On April 19, 2026, Springer announced he would not run for re-election to the Washington House of Representatives District 45-Position 2 in 2026.[1]
Biography
Springer earned an M.S. in family counseling from the University of Oregon in 1974. Springer earned his B.A. in education from Western Washington State College in 1969. He has been the owner of The Grape Choice since 1982. Springer was a teacher for the Auburn School District from 1969 to 1974. He then worked as Administrative Director for King County Youth Services from 1977 to 1980. From 1984 to 1986, he was owner of The Feed Store Restaurant.
Springer was Mayor of the City of Kirkland from 2000 to 2003. He also served as Council Member for the Kirkland City Council from 1994 to 2004. He is a former Majority Assistant Whip and Majority Floor Leader.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 17, 2014. Incumbent Larry Springer (D) and Brendan Woodward (R) were unopposed in the primary.
