Biography
Elaine Alaniz was born in Weslaco, Texas, and was raised in Houston, Texas. She moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2003. Alaniz earned an associate degree from Los Angeles City College in 2018 and associate degrees from Los Angeles Valley College in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Her career experience includes working as a healthcare workforce specialist, public affairs specialist, and recruiter. She has served as president and treasurer on the City of Los Angeles Westlake North Neighborhood Council.
Alaniz has been affiliated with SAG-AFTRA, the California Republican Party, the GOP presidential delegation, the Los Angeles County Republican 54th District Central Committee, EmpowerLA, L.A. I am committed to delivering results that people can see, measure, and trust.- Restore Public Safety and Community Stability:
Public safety is the foundation of everything. Right now, too many communities in District 1 are dealing with crime, open drug use, and unsafe conditions that are being tolerated instead of addressed.
I will restore safety by enforcing the law while also addressing root causes like homelessness, mental health, and addiction. This means coordinated action between law enforcement, mental health services, and community organizations with clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
We will move from managing problems to solving them, restoring order, and creating real pathways to recovery. Safe communities are not optional, they are the baseline for everything else to succeed. - Fix Government Accountability and Deliver Results: Los Angeles County has the resources, but it is failing in execution. Taxpayers deserve to know where their money is going and what results it is producing. I bring a background in federal systems, healthcare, workforce development, and organizational leadership. I understand how large systems operate and how to fix inefficiencies. My focus is on performance, transparency, and outcomes. Every department and program should be measured by results, not intentions. We will streamline operations, eliminate waste, and ensure that public funds are used effectively to deliver real impact for residents and businesses.
- Grow the Economy and Strengthen Workforce Pipelines: Economic growth and workforce development go hand in hand. We need to make it easier for businesses to operate, hire, and grow while creating clear pathways for residents to access stable, well paying jobs. With my experience in human resources, talent acquisition, and workforce pipeline development, I understand how to connect people to opportunity.
