Stokesbary's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
| “ |
Education My mom was a teacher in Washington State for 25 years, and her father was a teacher before that. My dad’s parents both taught at the Washington State School for the Deaf. Coming from a family of teachers, I’ve always understood the importance of quality education. Now that I’m a new father, I want good schools more than ever. Schools should have the resources they need to succeed, and we must ensure those resources are used wisely. That’s why I’ve been endorsed by the League of Education Voters. Kids deserve our first dollar, not our last dime. I will be your advocate for better schools and better outcomes. Jobs Too many families are still struggling to recover from the Great Recession. Unemployment and underemployment remain high, and I will fight for jobs every day in the Legislature. Small businesses are responsible for half of the jobs in our region, but state government continues to make it difficult for them to grow and create new jobs. I know this from personal experience. As an attorney, I’ve had to help small businesses navigate government bureaucracies. I don’t think it should take an attorney to run a small business in this state, and that’s why I’ve been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business.[8] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
