Cindy Werner is a mom, grandma, Christian, Constitutional, Conservative Republican, who served in the military (Army), former compliance manager, former and present school board trustee, and advocate for government transparency running for Wisconsin Secretary of State. She believes voters deserve clear, accurate, and accessible information about their government and elections. Through her work in civic education, Werner has already been helping Wisconsin voters better understand ballot initiatives and election processes. She will bring a focus on transparency, accountability, and voter access to information—ensuring the Secretary of State’s office is a trusted source of public records and civic knowledge.
  • Cindy Werner is a veteran, former and present school board member with a strong background in compliance, and civic engagement. Raised in a home with a single mom who worked two jobs, she brings a practical, hardworking perspective shaped by service, discipline, and real-world experience.

She has been actively involved in voter education and community outreach across Wisconsin, helping residents better understand election processes and constitutional amendments. Her work has focused on increasing public awareness and improving access.

Werner’s professional and service background reflects a commitment to accountability, and transparency—qualities that align with the core responsibilities of the Secretary of State's office.
  • The Wisconsin Secretary of State serves as the state’s official record keeper and administrator of key government documents. While the role does not oversee elections, it plays an important part in maintaining transparency, accuracy, and public access to official state actions. Even though the position is often viewed as administrative, it is foundational to: Government transparency Public access to information Trust in official records and state actions At its core, the office ensures that what government does is properly recorded, preserved, and accessible to the people of Wisconsin.
  • I would focus on improving transparency, accessibility, and public understanding of government operations in Wisconsin. I would work to modernize access to state records by improving digital systems, creating searchable databases, and providing plain-language summaries. promoting consistency and transparency by encouraging clear standards for how public information is published. I would also increase public visibility into the work of the office, including its role on the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands, by providing straightforward updates and reports on state activities and investments. The Secretary of State does not administer elections it can play an important role in helping the public better understand elections.
I am most passionate about government transparency, especially civic education (which is what I am continuing to do), my leadership helped with the passage of US Citizens Vote Only. Now I am working to make sure we secure our religious liberties, DO NOT USE PUBLIC FUNDS FOR DEI PROGRAMS, as well as public access to information. I believe these are foundational to a well-functioning democracy and directly connected to the responsibilities of the Secretary of State’s office.
At this time, I have not actively sought endorsements. I believe the nominating process should give voters the opportunity to hear from and evaluate all candidates based on their qualifications, ideas, and commitment to public service.

My focus has been on engaging directly with voters, sharing information, and ensuring people have a clear understanding of both the role of the Secretary of State and my approach to serving in that office. I respect the role endorsements can play in campaigns, but I believe the most important voice in this process is that of the voters themselves.

Ultimately, a strong nomination process is one where voters are informed, have access to candidates, and are able to make their own decisions by voting.
