Fans

Fans are minor characters in ARMS who serve as spectators at the various matches throughout the game. A group of fans, can be seen in the background of almost every fight, enthusiastically supporting the fighters. These fans have no direct effect on the outcome of the match but add to the atmosphere and excitement of the event.
Fans typically dress in costumes modelled after the fighters they support, and their appearance changes to reflect the fighter’s colour scheme. They range from men and women to children, and they enthusiastically cheer for their chosen competitors.
Appearance
Different fans appear in various costumes based on the fighter they support. These fans even change their colour to match the fighter's colour scheme. The following are the fan appearances associated with each fighter:

- Ninjara: Fans don a ninja hood with a knot of shuriken-inspired hair on top.

- Min Min: Fans wear her signature beanie and noodle-like hairstyle.
- Mechanica: Fans wear clothing modelled after her mech suit.

On Ribbon Ring, there are indistinguishable fans holding pink glow sticks.
Behaviour
The fans can be seen cheering, expressing worry, or dodging punches in the background during matches. Their reactions vary depending on the situation, with some appearing excited when the player lands a hit, while others seem anxious or frustrated. In some instances, they quickly dodge punches that come near them.
A male fan can be seen riding a snakeboard in the background of Snake Park and operating the camera in Cinema Deux.

Trivia
- Sparring Ring is the only stage that does not have any fans present.
- Fans also appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the background of Spring Stadium. They appear to be Min Min fans, but their shirts have the Super Smash Bros. symbol, and half of them wear blue shirts instead of orange, similar to Spring Man fans.
- When playing the Grand Prix at level 6 or 7, the cutscene before the final shows fans of the player's character and Max Brass in the audience; however, in the match itself and subsequent cutscenes, the Max Brass fans are replaced with Dr. Coyle fans.
- Some fans with fewer frames of animation are actually 2D planes with textures applied to give the illusion of 3D. These fans are used in the background to conserve resources and maintain performance.
