This is Alba. Alba is a 1-year-old husky/collie female - she looks like a husky the size of a collie.

Alba belongs to my 19-year-old daughter K who has been told by her landlord that she's in breach of her tenancy agreement in having a dog, and Alba has to go or he'll evict her.
Alba is temporarily staying with us, but unfortunately there is no way we can take her on permanently (though I dearly wish we could). Our 2-bed cottage is far too small, both cats are currently freaked out that there's a dog staying in the house; and though Freda loves Alba, Alba is just too boisterous and energetic around her. Worst of all though is that David is horribly allergic to dogs - just 24 hours with a dog in the house and his eyes & nose are streaming and he's sneezing his head off.
Battersea can't take her until the 17th Feb, one prospective home has fallen through already, and really we cannot keep her here realistically for much more than a week - and even that will be a strain.
Alba is a smart, friendly, happy dog who needs obedience training and would likely benefit from agility classes. She gets on well with other dogs and is curious about cats but has a tendancy to chase them. She's a pretty good ratter. She needs to be rehomed with someone who is experienced with working dog breeds, particularly huskies, and who can give her the time and attention she needs and plenty of space and exercise.
At the moment I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of husky rescues and Richard Philpott (former co-ordinator of SHCGB UK) is making calls on our behalf to try and find a foster or adoption place for her. If you or anyone you know can offer Alba a safe, happy new home, please email me at arkadyDOTroseATgmailDOTcom.
