Strata and
Sabca's partnership and collaboration ensured that the lessons learned from the current Flap Support Fairings were incorporated in a "Design for Manufacture" (DFM) which led to establishing robust manufacturing methods for the new fairings.
Abu Dhabi: Strata Manufacturing PJSC (Strata), the advanced composite aero-structures manufacturing facility wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has successfully completed the industrialisation of the Airbus A350-900 elongated Flap Support Fairings (eFSFs) modification for Belgian aerospace company, Societes Anonyme Belge de Constructions Aeronautiques (
SABCA), according to a statement released on Saturday.
SABCA Foundation is a project of United Charitable Programs, a registered 501(c) (3) public charity.
It is worth reflecting on the approaches of the
SABCA and SANSA projects to identify what does produce tangible change (Young 2010).
Strata had signed in 2012 a landmark
SABCA (Societes Anonyme Belge de Constructions Aeronautiques) contract to provide FSFs for the Airbus A350-900, solidifying Strata as a pivotal partner in manufacturing A350 XWB aerostructures.
Strata has made many partnerships with leading companies that manufacture aircrafts, including Eads/Airbus, The Boeing Company, Finmeccanica, Alenia Aeronautica,
Sabca and FACC.
In the aerospace business, Strata Manufacturing won a landmark contract from
SABCA for the Airbus A350 XWB flap track fairings work package, adding to its existing Airbus flap track fairing work packages for the manufacturer's fleet of A330, A340 and the A380 aircraft.
This achievement comes on the back of an internationally competitive tender process by leading Belgian company
Sabca, acting as sole-source Airbus Tier-1 risk sharing partner for the design, industrialisation and manufacturing of the A350XWB flap support structures and flap support fairings.
NB: Flabel is owned by several Belgian industrial firms: 25% Sonaca, 25% Asco, 25% Barco, 17%
Sabca and 8%
Sabca Limburg.
Strata has partnerships with some of the world's leading original equipment manufacturers, including Boeing, Airbus and Alenia Aermacchi, as well as tier-one suppliers FACC and
Sabca.
Belairbus has thus effectively confirmed its ambitions to take a 4% interest in the development project for this new aircraft, in ccoperation with the other Belgian aerospace concerns Sonaca, Asco, Eurair and
Sabca, it said in a communique.
