The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced the publication of NOTAM FDC 9/7752, allowing for intermittent airspace restrictions of drones at select federal facilities across the country, the company said.
"After cancellation of NOTAMS by Pakistan and India in the early hours today, there are no restrictions on airspaces of both countries, flights have started using the closed air routes, bringing a significant relief for airlines," the ministry wrote on Twitter.
"Pakistan airspace is open for all types of civil traffic on published ATS (Air Traffic Service) routes," according to a so-called Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) published on the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority's website shortly after midnight.
The official added that Iran is legally suing the US for issuing irrelevant NOTAMs, highlighting that Tehran has filed a complaint at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the case is still open.
The sheer quantity of Notams, plus their user-unfriendly all-caps format riddled with abbreviations, have from time to time sparked calls for fundamental changes, including on the floor of the U.S.
According to the latest NOTAM, the flight operations will remain suspended at Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad and Multan airports till 1pm March 4.
A Notice To Airmen, or NoTam, was published by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) asking pilots not to fly in the area if possible to reduce noise from low-flying planes and helicopters.
A CAA SPOKESMAN said: "We've been informed and we've issued a Notice to Airmen (Notam) to let pilots Know that this mast is unlit.
The list includes the METARs and TAEs, but also a static image of local NEXRAD radar, freezing levels, SIG-METs and AlRMETs, surface winds, NOTAMs and a local TFR map.
During the period when NOTAMs were in operation it reverted to the status of 'open airspace' not requiring ATC management."
