...CARIBBEAN SEA & LOCAL REGION...
Local forecast:
The ridge of the Atlantic high pressure system
is producing fresh to strong winds, reaching
near gale force to possibly gale force in gusts.
Shallow moisture is present in the regional
atmosphere. Generally dry weather conditions
will therefore prevail during this forecast
period.
A high concentration of Saharan Dust is present
in the regional atmosphere. This will produce
hazy conditions and induce air of a low quality
for the next few days. People sensitive to
changes in the air quality must take this
into account to aviod health issues.
Marine conditions:
Smooth to slight seas are in place on the protected
south sites. Slight to moderate seas are noted on
the exposed south sides with seas of around 2 to
locally 4 feet. Moderate to locally quite rough
seas are expected over the east to northwest
coastal areas. Seas are here in the range of
5 to 8 feet, locally reaching 9 feet.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the east
to northwest coastal regions...
